Hello! So it appears I've been pretty much completely MIA from the blogospehere for the past few months, basically working full time means I'm rarely at home to post & when I am at home I spend all my time with D, I'm going to try and change this however!
I'm writing to you from my bed which feels like a cave of germs as I'm currently just getting over tonsillitis which has had me defeated for days.. but throat issues aside nothing has changed with me, I'm still working for Illamasqua, I'm enjoying it so much and every day I remind myself how lucky I am to work with such lovely people & talented artists. Daisy is probably an inch taller and has added many a word to her vocabulary, including pickle, potty, cheese... all very useful words! She's doing just fine, a real little girly now! Mitchell & I are doing well, it's our three year anniversary in a couple of weeks, I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that it feels like thirty years! We had our first (can you believe it) holiday together, just us two, in three years (!) in September, we flew to Bulgaria & stayed at Helena Resort in Sunny Beach. Despite what the TV programme says it's actually a lovely place, we stayed a little way away from the main "party" part of the strip, at a gorgeous five star resort & it was so good to just relax and spend some quality time together!
We have a few very big events coming up at Illamasqua over the next couple of months & I'll be sure to blog about them! I'm going to try and set some time aside for my blog but I'm guessing it'll turn more lifestyle and beauty tutorials than reviews! I hope everyone is well and enjoying Autumn, prehaps I'll post an Autumn beauty tutorial? As usual anything you want to see, give me a shout!
REFLECTION PALETTE £34, VELVET BLUSH IN PEAKED £18, LIPSTICK IN SHARD £18, LUSH LASH £14.50 @ ILLAMASQUA*
If you follow me on any social media sites you'll notice I've been waffling on about our new collection; Sacred Hour. Stepping away from the normal neon brights, colour and structure, Illamasqua have released a collection full of wearable, subtle tones inspired by the power within each of us to self express. With a brand new eye palette, textured blush and a product that David Horne calls his baby, there is something for everyone!
Lip stick in Shard - £18.00 - Shard is a deep, red - violet, very colour intense with a matte finish & yes, it is named after the London landmark, The Shard! This can be worn as a washed out cranberry lipstain or as a full on matte lipstick.
Skin Base Lift in 8 shades - £16.00 - Skin Base Lift is the best friend of Skin Base foundation. Infused with peach tones it eliminates the need of a colour corrector and visibly lift and brightens the eye area.
Reflection palette - £34.00 - Carrying on the cream to powder formulation from the Paranormal palette this product contains four earthy, neutral shades that can be worn in so many different ways! Because of the formulation this product blends so easily onto the skin and a dab of Precipice (soft yellow) on the inner lid with Dart (warm bronze) blended from the outer corner inwards creates a gorgeous soft smokey eye.
Velvet blush in Sleek & Peaked - £18.00 - Hurrah! A completely new texture of blush! Illamasqua's cream & powder blushers are amazing but there's something about this gorgeously smooth velvet blush that blends perfectly on the skin that I just love. Both shades are true to form and stay with the dusky theme of Sacred Hour and you can chose from a dusk rose or dusk coral.
Lush Lash - £14.50 - Designed by key artist Charlotte these lashes are full on fluttery with tonnes of volume! The ends of the lash of very wispy and soft, where as the base are packed with product which give a lovely 60's inspired finish.
Nail Polish in Hemlock & Facet - £14.50 - Dusk and dawn inspired nail shades with an Opalescent finish. Hemlock looks beautiful over a white or soft lemon nail polish.
Also relaunching in this collection are Gel Liner in Infinity and the Angled brush, a perfect combo! There are also a beautiful collection of Swarvoski crystals handpicked by David Horne himself to match the theme of the Sacred Hour collection. Sacred Hour is available now exclusively at Selfridges and to be released online & in stores from August 30th.

ILLAMASQUA RICH LIQUID FOUNDATION - £25 @ ILLAMASQUA
Behold! The greatest coverage foundation I have ever found... so far! True to their Berlin stage makeup roots, Illamasqua's Rich Liquid foundation is a powerfully heavy coverage foundation perfect for both professional and at home use.
I recently posted a photo on my IG of my tattoo which I managed to cover completely using solely rich liquid with a little powder to set, the coverage really is amazing and so many of you wanted to know more about the foundation. I've found a lot of customers who have issues with pigmentation, birth marks, etc absolutely love this product. The texture of the foundation is thick and creamy, a little of it goes a long, long way so the actual bottle will last you a good few months! It has a slight scent of vanilla to it, but I quite like this, and also contains Vitamin E.
Although the product and coverage is quite heavy I find that when applied with an Illamasqua highlighter brush and buffed into the skin you can still achieve a natural looking finish - although it will be matte, it wont have the dreaded 'cakey' look we all try so desperately to avoid!
Rich Liquid comes in fourteen shades from snow white to jet black, you can use it as a concealer under your eyes or on any areas you need heavier coverage, or use it as a full face foundation if you love a flawless, matte finish! Pop into a store and try it out, I think this may be a few people's holy grail!
SELFRIDGES BEAUTY BOX - £25 @ THE BEAUTY WORKSHOP, SELFRIDGES
This beauty box is a one off special from Selfridges which combines some of the best brands in their beauty hall. The theme of the box is summer, festival, etc, hence the bright colours, glitter and cooling mist! With brands from Topshop to Eyeko, Illamasqua to Sol De Janeiro there's something for everyone in this little treasure trove!
I cant say I will use every product in this box but each of them are handy to have just incase. I was especially pleased to have the coconut water cooling mist, in this heat that is perfect for hot tube journeys! I've never tried Bare Minerals lip products, or Topshop's so I'm glad I was given the chance to try these out. I was slightly disappointed when I realised the Eyeko liner was blue rather than black but given the theme of the box this was to be expected!
Normally this box retails at over £150 so to snap it up for £25 was an absolute bargain! Also, myself and other members of the Illamasqua Selfridges team are creating a 'get the look' postcard for 'Surge' a gorgeous metallic silver which comes in the box. Selfridges Beauty Box is available from The Beauty Workshop, Selfridges, Oxford St.
